We’ve Matched!

We are thrilled to announce that we have matched with a baby boy due February 14th, 2021.

We have patiently waited for this day! As many of you already know, we became an active adopting couple in June. After five months of presenting on case after case with "not yet" verdicts, we finally got the call from our consultant on Tuesday, November 10th at 5:28 PM, saying that we had matched with a baby boy and his birth parents. Both mom and dad are involved (currently, they are engaged to be married and looking for a stable home, that's us, for their son). On Thursday, November 12th, at 11:00 AM, we spoke with the agency and our new caseworker. She was super helpful and told us that we were chosen out of 40 other families that presented and made it to the top three. In the end, it was the photo in our profile book of Aaron surfing behind our boat on Lake Martin that won them over. Baby boy's biological dad grew up surfing in California. Isn't it great how God works through every little detail? Mom, Dad, and baby boy are currently in Utah, and we will now be paying for their living expenses and birth mom's care for the duration of her pregnancy (and some postpartum).

So what is next!? We pray, and we wait! When it is time for the baby to arrive, we will be traveling to Utah for a 1 to 2-week stay there while all the legal paperwork is finalized.

We will be continuing to fundraise as this case ended up being a little above our initial budget, but we know God will provide.

We are so grateful for everyone's continued love, support, and prayers throughout this time. As we move forward, please be praying for baby boy's birth parents to be at peace with their decision, for his birth mom to stay healthy, for an uneventful delivery, and healthy baby boy.
